a timber-clad sanctuary designed to inspire athletic focus, connection, and environmental harmony
Pardini Hall Architecture has been awarded the FRAME Silver Award for Como 1907 Training Centre — a refined, timber-based project designed for the Italian football club Como 1907.
Located in Mozzate, near Lake Como, the 140-square-metre facility is conceived as a calming, light-filled retreat where players can refocus between matches. A palette of natural wood, soft whites, and Como’s signature blue tones defines the interior, evoking both serenity and team identity.
The layout supports the rhythm of a player’s day — moving fluidly from social and recovery zones to the dining area, divided by sliding timber panels that allow the space to adapt. Common areas promote rest and connection, while the dining room underscores nutrition as a central element of athletic wellbeing.
Locally sourced wood and energy-efficient lighting anchor the project’s sustainable ethos, a hallmark of PHA’s environmentally conscious design philosophy.
Jury members from studios including OODA, Vijay Gupta Architects, and The Designlab praised the project’s materiality and spatial sensitivity, awarding it an average score of 7.32 in the “Material” category.
Blending sustainability, craftsmanship, and human-centred design, the Como 1907 Training Centre reflects Pardini Hall Architecture’s ongoing commitment to creating spaces that harmonise people, place, and purpose.
