Per realizzare appieno il potenziale di questa splendida residenza di Chelsea, abbiamo aperto l’edificio per consentire spazi abitativi più fluidi, abbattendo allo stesso tempo ogni barriera alla luce. L’introduzione di un’estensione completamente vetrata costituisce un collegamento con il piano seminterrato che ospita la cucina, la zona pranzo e l’accesso al giardino. La struttura in acciaio inossidabile dell’estensione offre riflessi del giardino sia all’interno che all’esterno.

Abbiamo aumentato la capacità di stoccaggio ampliando gli armadi esistenti e aggiungendo armadietti sotto le scale, facendo funzionare ogni parte dell’ingombro della casa. Ora gli spazi abitativi e quelli per dormire sono accoglienti e privi di ingombri.

Nel soddisfare l’elemento di sostenibilità del brief, abbiamo migliorato i dettagli costruttivi per ridurre i ponti termici e aggiunto un isolamento a risparmio energetico realizzato con materiali riciclati. Abbiamo aggiunto il riscaldamento a pavimento. Abbiamo riutilizzato aggregati di calcestruzzo e utilizzato legname approvato FSC e PEFC per superfici interne ed esterne. Abbiamo usato luci led ovunque.
